How is it that I Forget

In the quiet moments of heartache that come in the middle of the night, those moments when sleep seems so difficult to embrace how often have I forgotten that I am not alone. In inner turmoil I cry and I hold on to the darkness that covers me with its cold blanket of fear. Yet, sitting one whisper away is the voice of the most high God, waiting for me to lift my cry to Him. Within me waiting for me to call out, the Holy Spirit sits quietly longing for me to remember. The Son of God waits in the throne of glory eager for me to look up so that he might make intercession for me. Lovingly they sit in the quiet stillness of my fear, one whisper, one upward glance away. So, how is it that I forget? How is it though numerous times before I have found them to hold true to the very promise of God’s Word, how is it that I forget?

1 Chronicles 16:12
“Remember his marvellous works that he hath done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;”

Psalm 63:6-7
“When I remember thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the night watches. Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.”

Psalm 143:5
“I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.”

"For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour, that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life." Titus 3: 3-7

"He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds. He telleth the number of the stars; he calleth them all by their names. Great is our Lord, and of great power: his understanding is infinite. The Lord lifteth up the meek" Pdalms 147: 3-6

"The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart: and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit." Psalm 34:18

"Woman where are those thine accusers ? Hath no man condemned thee? She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee go, and sin no more." John 8: 10b-11
