Nothing in Me, But All in Thee

Thine, O Lord, is the greatness, and the power, and the glory, and the victory, and the majesty: for all that is in the heaven and in the earth is thine; thine is the kingdom, O Lord, and thou art exalted as head above all. Both riches and honour come of thee, and thou reignest over all; and in thine hand is power and might; and in thine hand it is to make great, and to give strength unto all. But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? for all things come of thee, and of thine own have we given thee” I Chronicles 29:11-13

Who am I that I would think of myself as something that I am not? I am nothing within myself and all that I have comes from God. I stand amazed by His presence, the power of His might and the majesty of who He is gives me pause to wonder at all that He has given.  Nothing that I give unto Him comes from within me, it all comes from Him working through me and providing for me that I might give.

For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him, and he is before all things, and by him all things consist.”  Colossians 1; 16-17

In moments that I find myself feeling more than I am, I return to this thought and am reminded that all I am or have is of Him. He has created all things and by Him are all things. Then I am faced with the humbling reality that I am nothing in me, but all in Thee !!

For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why doest thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?” I Corinthians 4:7

Nothing in me, but all in Thee. . . .

Thou are worthy; O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.” Revelations 4:11
